Hi! My name is Maria Veronica Prado and I was born in Caracas, Venezuela. I moved to Weston, Florida when I was 9 years old where I have lived since with my family. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Physics at Williams College where I will start my sophomore year this upcoming fall.

Growing up, I was taught to value everything in life. My humble and hardworking parents instilled a strong Catholic base in our household, which has led me to be everything I am today.

With that said, I am so thankful for this REU experience at Kansas State and all the great times I have had since arriving. Even though we have all been working really hard on our individual projects throughout the summer, we have also gotten the opportunity to do many fun activities as well!

For example, the physics REU went with the math REU as well as the chemistry REU and SUROP to a Kansas City Royals game. Some of us got our picture taken with some very spirited Royals fans!

We also went with another summer program at Kansas State, BRIDGES, to Pillsbury Crossing, where we spent the day having fun at the creek.
