2025 REU Application Information

Applications are sought from undergraduate students who are interested doing physics research, and who are either U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Applicants should not yet have earned their B.A. or B.S. degrees.

First generation students, women, members of underrepresented groups, U.S. veterans, and students from colleges with limited research programs are strongly encouraged to apply.

The application will ask for the following information:

  • name and email address of a person who will be submitting a letter of recommendation on your behalf (Please have your reference send the recommendation to reu@phys.ksu.edu - the system is not automated so they will have to e-mail us);
  • your current cumulative GPA;
  • unofficial transcript;
  • brief personal statement (~3/4 page) that includes your academic and career goals, research interests, and why you would like to participate in our REU. It is beneficial to identify K-State faculty with whom you would be interested in working and explain why you would like to work with them (see available faculty members in the list of participating research areas at www.phys.ksu.edu/reu/). You will be asked to insert text directly online or to upload a file.
Apply to the K-State Physics REU Program

If you have any questions, e-mail reu@phys.ksu.edu.
