University Support Staff Senate Meritorious Awardees for First Quarter of 2021 include Physics Department Employee Peter Nelson

Peter Nelson, research technician in physics, was named a meritorious awardee for the first quarter of 2021 by the University Support Staff Senate.

Peter provides instructional resources for our department's lecture and outreach demonstrations as well as our undergraduate laboratories.

Individuals nominated for the award demonstrate exceptional leadership and/or extraordinary effort in their position.

Peter was nominated by Bharat Ratra for his commitment to his responsibilities and taking that extra step.

Ratra said "We have now extended this (outreach) program to Lee Elementary School and have so far interacted with over 5500 elementary school children. Peter is an essential part of this effort".

After review and approval by the Meritorious Award Committee, awardees received a $200 monetary award provided by the University Support Staff Senate.

The department appreciates Peter's support and dedication to our department and Kansas State University.
