Undergraduate Program
The Department of Physics offers programs leading to three different degrees. These degrees can lead you to numerous career options that are in high demand in today's economy.
Many physicists conduct basic rsearch in industry, universities, hospitals, and government. A large number of physicists also go into engineering fields or the financial sector.
As one of the top-funded departments in the US, our students are able to participate in world-class research conducted alongside acclaimed physicists using state-of-the-art equipment. These undergraduate students often publish papers in refereed journals. Participation in research has resulted in our students receiving national scholarships such as the Goldwater and NSF Graduate Fellowships.
Many of our students participate in classroom/lab/studio instruction as undergraduate teaching and/or learning assistants alongside our highly reknowned professors.
Our department offers a large number of scholarships on top of University and College level scholarships. So, if you think that physics might be the major or minor, or a component of your dual major (often with Math and Engineering) for you, or if you would like to learn more about our department, please contact us to meet with our advisor by emailing office@phys.ksu.edu or call 785-532-6786.
