Physical Chemistry of Functionalized Epitaxial Graphene
102 Cardwell Hall
March 24, 2014
4:30 p.m.

Multi-layer epitaxial graphene grown on SiC offers unique opportunities to study at the fundamental level the physical chemistry of promising functionalizations of graphene. In this talk, I present our most recent studies of both oxidized and fluorinated epitaxial graphene. I discuss experimental, and most importantly, computational results, with particular focus on the metastability and structure of the oxidized carbon films, and the concentration-dependent chemical interaction of fluorine with graphene.
