Theoretical Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics

My research interests continue to be in ultra-short, intense laser-atoms/molecules interactions and attosecond physics. My main research has been focused on the development of the theoretical methods and models for high-order harmonic generation from aligned molecules in ultra-short and intense laser fields. I have also been working on, strong-field ionization, high-energy electron spectra, and non-sequential double ionization from atoms/molecules in intense laser fields. Our main contribution in this field is the accurate description of the above-mentioned phenomena by the quantitative rescattering theory, in which the structure of the atomic/molecular targets enters explicitly into the formulation. We are now extending our methods to complex polyatomic molecules probed by ultra-short, intense mid-infrared (mid-IR) laser pulses and to dynamic chemical imaging of molecular systems undergoing chemical reaction or transformation.
