We live in interesting times as major changes sweep through the federal government and our university. What remains unchanged is our state’s and nation’s critical need to continue fundamental scientific research that undergirds so much of our economy, and to inspire and train the next generation of physicists to contribute to this work. We have tremendous physical assets in this department ranging from one of the world’s fastest attosecond lasers to a suite of new teaching labs dedicated to physics of human health, but nothing tops the value of our incredible students, staff, faculty, and worldwide network of alumni and friends.

Thank you for being a vital part of the Physics department family. Let's celebrate shared successes and advance our mission together.

Best regards,

Tim Bolton, Head
