Mohammadi Announced as 2018 CMS LPC Distinguished Researcher

Abdollah Mohammadi, postdoctoral research associate in physics, working in a group of Prof. Kaadze, has been named a CMS LHC Physics Center Distinguished Researcher for 2018.

Mohammadi received one of 12 junior awards, which requires an established track record of expertise in a specific area of experimental high energy physics, or an activity related to the Compact Muon Solenoid detector upgrade at the Large Hadron Collidr at CERN.

The distinguished researcher program is a defining feature of the LHC Physics Center at Fermilab. The colleagues selected are accomplished individuals at different stages of their career. This program provides resources to help strengthen and expand their research programs.

Mohammadi said he will continue exploration of the energy frontier to look for dark matter particle and measure properties of the Higgs boson as a part of the K-State physics program at the Large Hadron Collider.

Funding for the program is from the LHC Physics Center at Fermilab and a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy.
