Latin American Center of Physics (CLAF) promotes scientific exchange with Kansas State University

In order to encourage high levels of research in the field of physics and common areas of scientific work, the CLAF recently signed a collaboration agreement with Kansas State University. The two institutions agreed to exchange students and scientists of mutual interest.

In particular, the CLAF considers important in the university laboratory "James R. Macdonald Laboratory". It has one of the most powerful groups worldwide on Physical Ultra-Fast Lasers Ultrafast Physics Research. The laboratory has a tunable source of high intensity (High Intensity Tunable Source), as sources of ultra-fast light (Ultrafast Light Source for Attosecond Research) scale experiments allowing the attoseconds.

Since this is of interest from the point of view of science and technology, the idea of this agreement is to encourage a flow of researchers and graduate students to promote scientific work that cannot be achieved in individual laboratories using these technologies. Those interested should coordinate with their respective institutions and send specific projects to CLAF (claf (at) cbpf.br) to assess the feasibility of them.
