Physics to Host Public Viewing of Lunar Eclipse this Sunday

The Physics Department will host a public viewing of the lunar eclipse this Sunday, September 27 from 8-10:30 p.m. Large telescopes and binoculars will be set up on the west side of Cardwell Hall on the K-State campus to view the lunar eclipse.

The Harvest Moon will pass into the Earth's umbra shadow beginning at 8:07 p.m. CDT. Full eclipse begins at 9:11 p.m. Although the eclipse will be beautiful to the naked eye, viewing through telescopes gives another exciting perspective.

Your hosts will be physics professors and amateur astronomers from K-State's Department of Physics. Anyone is free to stop by between 8 and 10:30 p.m.
