Kansas Optical Society launches website

To celebrate the Year of Light, the Kansas Optical Society (KOS), the Kansas student chapter of the Optical Society of America, with the support of the Physics Department at Kansas State University has launched the KOS web site. KOS’s mission is to gather students interested in optics and photonics in a casual environment to discuss science, promote optics knowledge in Kansas and foster professional development through various activities. Membership is open to any high school, undergraduate or graduate student in the state of Kansas who is interested in expanding their knowledge in optics, photonics and other closely related fields. Through the site we aim to achieve a wider recruitment of students and form a network of future professionals interested in optics. If you are a student interested in optics, photonics or a closely related field, do not hesitate to contact us. If you are a professor and use any optical method for your research or have students interested in optics, encourage your students to be part of the chapter.
