Physics REU Students Receive a Best Poster Award at K-State Joint REU Poster Session

Wyatt Behn of the University of Nebraska, Kearney and Alex Armstrong of Wheaton College shared one of four best poster awards from among ~50 posters presented at the Kansas State University Joint REU Poster Session on Thursday, July 31. Wyatt and Alex are mentored by Assistant Professor Andrew Ivanov while participating in the 10-week K-State Physics REU Program, “Laser-matter Interactions at the Atomic and Nanoscales,” funded by the National Science Foundation.

Behn & Armstrong’s poster, “Token Bit Manager: The Next Step in Particle Detection” highlighted their research testing chips to be used on the CMS (Compact Muon Solenoid) in the Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland.
