Condensed, Soft and Biological Matter Physics
Stronger yet smaller magnets, powerful solid state lasers and LEDs, atoms and polymers adsorbed on surfaces, nucleation of soot in flames, the physics of ultrasmall matter: these are all subjects of condensed matter physics at K-State. Our eclectic condensed, soft and biological matter group studies a variety of phenomena; the common thread is a desire to understand how atoms and molecules combine to form materials with different properties.
