Hidden Depths

Hidden Depths

A fascinating picture captivated my personal and professional life. The "tip of the iceberg", what does this mean? Archimedes' principle, buoyancy, density, forces, pressure, equilibrium are some of the concepts needed to understand this phenomenon. My interest in physics started in wonderment and the quest was supported with mentors who are passionate about nature and what she can teach us. It wasn't long that I got hook in line and sinker with the nitty gritty of science and science education. This website has information on physics education research and my interest in science education in general. Indeed like all sciences, education research has its hidden depths.

Being a father of 3 boys keeps me on my toes all the time. I await on every level their affective, intellectual and psychomotor development. I would not exchange for anything in the world the privilege of fatherhood. The giggles, childish laughs, the utterment of only "No" phrases to "I can do it dad", jumping on the bed and couch, hearing them chant Barney, Blue's clues, Wonder Pets and Wiggles tunes, playing the drums to patiently finishing a 100 piece puzzle (and crashing it a few minutes later) makes me look forward to their own hidden depths to be uncovered and developed in time.

It is my belief that each person has a hidden depth that will take a lifetime to uncover and develop.
