Experimental High Energy Particle Physics
Now is very exciting time to work in High Energy Physics.
The upcoming decade is anticipated to bring a
revolutionary breakthrough in our understanding of the world at the smallest distances and the universe at the earliest moments
of its creation.
Our group is using the CMS detector at the CERN LHC collider to analyze
proton-proton collisions at the highest energy scale to-date. This is the energy
scale where theoretical predictions indicate that the effects beyond the
standard model of particle physics should appear. The fact, that the theory
cannot specify the exact nature of new physics and leaves many options
open, gives us, particle physicists, very interesting and exciting years ahead
in unraveling the deepest secrets of nature.
