Tuttle Creek Recreation Area

12,350 acre man-made lake about 3 miles from Manhattan.  Has swimming, boating, hiking, and camping among other things.

Konza Prairie

8,600 acres of native tallgrass prairie a few miles from Manhattan, owned by the Nature Conservancy and administered by K-State.  Has hiking trails, visitor programs, and a herd of bison!

Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve

10,861 acres of native tallgrass prairie about 57 miles from Manhattan, owned by the Nature Conservancy and administered by the National Park Service.  Has many visitor programs and activities.

Manhattan Arts Center

The town’s venue for performing arts.

Fort Riley

This nearby U.S. Army base is home to the 1st Infantry Division and other units.  The base is about 15 miles from Manhattan.
