Application

The Selection Committee will begin reviewing applications approximately the second week of February for fall admission.  To be competitive, we advise you to make sure all documents will be received by the Department before this time.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

A complete application includes:

1.  K-State online application form

We prefer that you complete the University’s portion of the application this way.  It also has the convenience of allowing you to pay the application fee by credit card online. If you would rather receive an application and information packet in the mail, send an email request to graduate@phys.ksu.edu

 

2.  Physics Department form (MS Word or PDF)

 

3.  Pay application fee online

4.  Statement of objectives (Guidelines)

5.  Three letters of reference

No special forms are required, but check our Guidelines.

6.  GRE Advanced Physics score (copy accepted, see FAQ)

7.  Official transcripts of all university coursework

Both native language and English translations for international students

8.  Diplomas for all degrees received at time of application.  See also our FAQ.

International applicants are also required to send:

1.  TOEFL score of at least 550 (paper), 213 (computer), 79 (internet) - Copies accepted

2.  A signed "Affidavit of Financial Support

You must sign this form in Section I to be admitted whether or not you are applying for financial aid.  If you are bringing dependents, you are required to fill out all three sections.
