Canoeing on the Kansas River:

On this trip put together by the Physics REU coordinators, the Physics REU students spent the day canoeing 11 miles down the Kansas River.

Downtown Manhattan:

Downtown Manhattan, filled with shops and restaurants, is quite an exciting area to explore. On Saturday mornings, you can find the Saturday Farmer’s market filled with fresh food and artisan crafts sold by the friendliest vendors. We also had the opportunity to spend a Saturday afternoon exploring the Flint Hills Discovery Center, learning about the history and of Manhattan and the Flint Hills.

Sunset Zoo:

We spent a Saturday afternoon visiting the Sunset Zoo in Manhattan.
