Turkey Scrapple

1 | c | white grits | ||||||||||
1 | c | shredded turkey meat | ||||||||||
1 | tsp | pepper | ||||||||||
1/2 | tsp | salt |
Bring the water to a boil and sprinkle the grits over it. Reduce heat to a simmer, add the salt, turkey and pepper, and stir occaisionally for 10 minutes. Remove from heat. The grits will thicken as they cool. Before they get too thick transfer to a greased bread pan, cover and refrigerate over night. To serve, cut slices of the cake and fry in a little butter or oil so each side is lightly browned.
