The Neutrino Oscillation Industry

There has been remarkable progress in the understanding of the neutrino in the last five years, with the discovery of neutrino oscillations in atmospheric neutrinos in 1998, the resolution of the solar neutrino problem, and important contributions from experiments at accelerators and reactors. A present round of experiments is measuring neutrinos with long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiments at accelerators. A further round of experiments is being planned to measure a parameter called theta_13, which is key to the observation of CP violation in the lepton sector. Those experiments would be at superbeams, off-axis experiments, reactors, neutrino factories and/or beta beams.
