We have investigated several wide bandgap
II-VI materials families that have potential in application for
red-green-blue (R-G-B) light emitters. I will present our
results with ZnCdMgSe-based structures grown lattice-matched to
InP and with other materials, such as Be- and Te-based II-VI
alloys, that may have unique advantages. I will also present
our recent results in non-equilibrium doping techniques for enhanced
p-type doping. Finally, I will discuss preliminary considerations
for other device applications.
