Environmental Effects on Colony Color

Part A
Strain: HA2 , Medium: MV

Both plates contain yeast cells. The plate on the left has a filter paper disk placed in the center. The plate on the right has a filter paper disc containing adenine. As the adenine difuses from the disc it supports the growth of the cells.

Part B
Strain: HA2
Anaerobic Growth: It is possible to set up anaerobic growth condition by cutting the agar in a petri dish and folding one half on to the other. This yeast strain will grow as cream colored cells in anaerobic conditions and pink in aerobic conditions.
