Welcome to my physics Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program website.  This documents my progress in my project.  The REU program is a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant given to Kansas State University (KSU), and other institutions, to invite undergraduates in various science disciplines to join a research group.   It is an opportunity to gain a working experience of what a research career entails.

Research Project

I work in Dr. Ben-Itzhak's atomic physics research group.  I am partnered with Nick Timme, a fellow physics REU student, on a mutual project.  Dr. Ben-Itzhak assigned Nick and I to design and build a spectrometer that will be used in a future experimental apparatus.  This link includes our project goal, strategy, progress, and explanations of what is happening.

Ethics

The KSU physics REU includes much more than simply pairing undergraduates with professors.  We have supplemental programs that allow us to learn and socialize.  One of these programs is a physics ethics lecture series led by a philosophy professor,  Dr. Glymour.

About Me

Who am I?  What do I do?  Why am I in physics?  These questions and more are answered!
