The Physics Department of Kansas State University is located in Cardwell Hall on the KSU Campus in Manhattan, KS.
Driving Directions from Kansas City Airport to the KSU Physics Department
From Kansas City Airport: Connect to 29 N or 435 S and follow the sign "to Topeka". After 2 miles, connect to 435 S. Stay on 435 S. for about 20 miles and then connect to 70 W. After about 95 miles, take exit 313 (Hwy 177) to the north or to the right (approximately 8 miles), follow 177 over the bridge into Manhattan. Exit off 177 from the bridge to the right where it says "Tuttle Creek Blvd/Ft. Riley Blvd". At the stoplight, turn right onto Ft. Riley Blvd. (Hwy 18 west) and take it to 17th St. Turn right into 17th and follow to Anderson Ave - the KSU campus will be across the street. You will also see an information booth in front of you that can provide you with a campus map.
The physics department is located on 17th street but there is a traffic obstacle that does not allow you to reach the physics department directly. The easiest way is to follow 17th street and to drive around the obstacle by turning left into College Heights Road, turning right into Denison Avenue and turning right at the next traffic light into Claflin Road. The next street on the right is Seventeenth St. again and Cardwell Hall is located on the left side of 17th. Parking is scarce on Campus and I suggest to leave the car in front of the physics department for a short time, and to contact a member of the HEP group immediately who will guide you to a parking spot. Prof. von Toerne's office is in room 11, located on the same level as the West side entrance.
