Location
Manhattan, Kansas is located 140 miles west of the Kansas City airport
and can be reached by air with US Airways Express (schedule below). We
strongly recommend flying into Manhattan or renting a car but if you
prefer to use a shuttle service, there is one available: KCI Road
Runner Express (800-747-2524). Please remember to make your reservation.
Driving Directions to the Ramada Inn and the KSU Campus
From Kansas City Airport: Connect to 29 N or 435 S and follow the sign
"to Topeka". After 2 miles, connect to 435 S. Stay on 435 S. for about
20 miles and then connect to 70 W. After about 95 miles, take exit 313
(Hwy 177) to the north or to the right (approximately 8 miles),
follow 177 over the bridge into Manhattan. Exit off 177 from the bridge
to the right where it says "Tuttle Creek Blvd/Ft. Riley Blvd". At the
stoplight, turn right onto Ft. Riley Blvd. (Hwy 18 west) and take it to
17th St. Turn right and follow to Anderson Ave - the Ramada Inn will be
on your right and the KSU campus will be across the street.
Pick Up at Manhattan Airport: Please call Ramada
Inn or call us upon your arrival for pick-up. We can also arrange to
pick you up if you provide us with your flight schedule in advance.
Parking: If you are driving and staying at the
Ramada Inn, you may leave your car there and walk across the street to
the campus. If you wish to park on campus, you must obtain a parking
permit - we will have them available at the meeting or you can stop at
the visitors booth which is outside the K-State Student Union.
Accommodations: Please call the Ramada
Inn directly at (785) 539-7531 and
mention that you are associated with the Physics Department to qualify
for the special rate.
